FAQs

What is Bhakti SF?

Bhakti SF is a spiritual community space rooted in Bhakti Yoga — the yoga of devotion, connection, music, service, and self-discovery. We host yoga classes, kirtan, wisdom talks, community dinners, retreats, volunteer opportunities, and special events in the heart of San Francisco.

Do I need experience to attend?

Not at all. Everyone is welcome — whether you’re completely new to yoga and meditation or have been practicing for years. Our classes and events are designed to be beginner-friendly and accessible to all backgrounds and experience levels.

What kind of yoga classes do you offer?

We offer a variety of all-levels yoga classes and styles throughout the week. Classes may include elements of Hatha, Vinyasa, restorative practices, breathwork, meditation, mantra, and sound healing depending on the teacher and event. The focus is on connection, mindfulness, and spiritual well-being rather than perfection or performance.

Is dinner really served after classes and events?

Yes! After all of our classes, kirtans, and special events, a freshly prepared vegetarian meal (prasadam) is served and shared together in community. Sharing food is an important part of Bhakti culture and one of the ways we connect with each other.

Seva means selfless service — offering your time, energy, or skills to help others without expecting anything in return. Seva is a foundational aspect of Bhakti Yoga and part of the heart of our community.

What is seva?

Is Bhakti SF volunteer-run?

Yes — Bhakti SF is purely volunteer-run. Our community is built through people offering their time, talents, and energy to help create meaningful experiences for others.

How can I get involved or volunteer?

There are many ways to get involved! You can help with community meals, setup and cleanup, cooking, events, music, welcoming guests, social media, outreach, or sharing your unique skills with the community. If you’d like to volunteer, simply speak with someone at an event or contact us through the website.
